This Year, the Hotel Bel-Air's Holiday Season Reaches Stone Canyon's Own Tables

For years, Stone Canyon Road's holiday hotel has been a place you went to. You booked a table, drove down the canyon and sat among the twinkling trees. The Hotel Bel-Air's 2026 season changes that. Its holiday announcement dated October 27, 2026 lists a Thanksgiving dinner to-go, which the hotel calls new for 2026. It feeds up to 12 people and is meant to be served at home.

That one item moves the season's first deadline into November, ahead of any December booking. It also arrives in a season that runs past a change in leadership, since a new general manager takes over on January 1.

The Deadline That Comes Before Thanksgiving

The to-go dinner costs $975 for the full meal. It includes a whole organic roasted turkey, winter truffle risotto, a traditional pecan pie and more. The hotel's festive page says orders are due by noon on November 24, two days before Thanksgiving.

The price is easier to judge against the seated meal. Thanksgiving Day in The Restaurant is a three-course menu served from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. It costs $295 per adult and $95 for children 12 and under. A full table of 12 at home works out to roughly $81 per person, about a quarter of the adult price in the dining room. The seated price includes the hotel's festive décor and twinkling lights, and the to-go price covers the food for a meal you host.

For anyone hosting in the canyon, the order of decisions is simple:

  1. Settle the guest count early in Thanksgiving week. The to-go menu is sized for up to 12.
  2. Place the order before noon on Tuesday, November 24.
  3. If you would rather be a guest, book a seated table through The Restaurant's reservation page.

A Smaller Gathering on Two Fridays

Thanksgiving dinner is not the only way the hotel is now hosting neighbors. In October, the hotel announced an American mahjong series with Oh My Mahjong. The first event sold out. The two remaining dates are November 20 and December 11, and a table for four costs $580. That comes to $145 per player for a game night at the bottom of the canyon. The series fits the same pattern as the to-go dinner, with programming built for people who live nearby rather than for overnight guests.

What the Bar Is Already Pouring

The season has already started. On November 1, the hotel began serving a holiday cocktail menu in all of its dining outlets. It includes the Cocoa Buzz, a spiked hot chocolate, and an eggnog called the Egg-Eneezer Scrooge. The Patisserie is adding Bûche de Noël, house-made pies, a build-your-own gingerbread man kit and Hanukkah jelly donuts to its seasonal menu. A dessert menu for the season starts December 1.

The Patisserie works the same way as the to-go dinner. A gingerbread kit or a pie leaves the hotel and goes home with you.

December, Week by Week

Once Thanksgiving is past, the calendar moves back onto the property. Most events are on the hotel's 12 acres of canyon gardens, and a few are on the Front Lawn itself.

  • Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in December, 3 p.m. Holiday afternoon tea in The Living Room, with a fireplace and a large Christmas tree. Prices start at $140 per person and include a glass of champagne.
  • Friday, December 11. The last scheduled Oh My Mahjong evening of the year.
  • Wednesday, December 16, through Friday, December 18. "Movies Under the Stars" on the Front Lawn, showing Elf, A Christmas Story and The Holiday on consecutive nights. General admission is $100 per person and includes a snack station with popcorn, candy and spiked hot chocolate. A private fire pit for up to six costs $1,000.
  • December 19 through 25. A new holiday dessert in The Restaurant, honoring the hotel's resident swans. It is offered during the seven days before Christmas.
  • Christmas Eve. A five-course dinner from 5 to 9 p.m., with carolers from 6 to 9 p.m. and pastries to take home. It costs $275 per adult and $95 for children 12 and under.
  • Christmas Day. A four-course meal from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Santa visits from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and carolers sing from noon to 3 p.m. The price matches Christmas Eve.

Fire pits for six are the closest thing on the movie calendar to a private outing. At $1,000 each, they cost about $167 per person, compared with $100 for general admission. Tickets are sold through the hotel's festive page.

New Year's Eve, and a New General Manager

New Year's Eve has two settings. The Restaurant serves an à la carte menu from 5:30 to 10 p.m., starting with a champagne toast and ending with a countdown. The Bar & Lounge stays open from 3 p.m. to 1 a.m. with a $150 per person minimum spend. Live piano plays from 3 to 9 p.m., followed by a jazz band until 1 a.m., and a champagne and caviar item is available from 3 to 10 p.m.

When the bar closes at 1 a.m. on January 1, the hotel will also have a new general manager. In an announcement dated October 15, 2026, Dorchester Collection named Richard Cooke general manager of the Hotel Bel-Air, effective January 1, 2027. Cooke joins from Rocco Forte Hotels, where he was managing director for the UK and Northern Europe and oversaw operations at Brown's Hotel in London. He has more than 30 years in luxury hospitality, including over 15 years in senior roles with Shangri-La. The same announcement says the hotel received the Michelin Guide's three-key rating. It is one of only two hotels in Los Angeles with that rating, alongside its sister property, The Beverly Hills Hotel.

On New Year's Day, The Restaurant serves an à la carte brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in its garden setting. It will be the first meal of the year and the first under the new general manager.

The Name on the Reservation

One small update is useful for anyone booking any of these meals. The dining room is now called The Restaurant at Hotel Bel-Air. Eater LA reported in early 2023 that Wolfgang Puck's partnership with the hotel would end on March 31 of that year. Even so, the old name still shows up on many neighborhood references. Every holiday seating above is booked under The Restaurant.

Up the Hill, on Beverly Glen Circle

Not every holiday errand involves the hotel. At the Glen Centre on Beverly Glen Circle, the daily routines are as they were. Beverly Glen Deli at No. 2948 is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Starbucks at No. 2952 opens at 6 a.m. on weekdays and 6:30 a.m. on weekends. Sushi House Unico is also in the center.

The Taco Stand, a taco shop from San Diego, is coming to No. 2958. The Glen Centre listed its opening as fall 2026. Hoodline covered the move in July as a San Diego favorite arriving in Beverly Glen, and the brand's own locations page includes Beverly Glen. It adds a casual counter option at the top of the canyon, while the evening plans this season are mostly down at the hotel.

Where the Two Ends Meet

Stone Canyon's holiday season now has two bookends. Most of the calendar happens at the hotel on Stone Canyon Road, and the Glen Centre on Beverly Glen covers everyday errands. The hotel's new take-home Thanksgiving dinner sits between the two, a hotel meal served at a table in the canyon. The first order deadline is noon on Tuesday, November 24.
